RANKING - Legends Padel League

The Legends Padel League (LPL) is the only official international padel circuit that combines and ranks all former professional athletes participating in LPL-recognized padel tournaments. The LPL ranking period lasts for one every single calendar year and is calculated based on all official results achieved by individual players in recognized tournaments from January 1st to December 31st each year.

HOW THE LPL RANKING IS CALCULATED (3 CRITERIA):

1) Results on the Court: For each player, the best 5 placements in LPL-recognized official tournaments are considered for each player. Points are awarded as follows: 100 points for winning a tournament, 70 points for second place, 50 points for third place, 30 points for fourth place. Additionally, players receive participation points, a bonus of 5 points for each participation in a recognized tournament (regardless of the result), up to a maximum of 10 participations.

2) MVP (Most Valuable Player): A bonus of 20 points is awarded to the best player in each tournament by the LPL technical jury (in collaboration with the tournament organizers). Each player can accumulate receive this bonus up to 5 times within the calendar year.

3) POP (Player of Players): This score is based on each player’s position in a ranking voted created upon the voting on by fellow players. Each participant votes for their top 5 players in the entire circuit every six months. After all votes are collected, a score is assigned twice a year (in June and December) based on the results: 100 points for the most voted player, 90 points for second place, 80 points for third place, 70 points for fourth place, 60 points for fifth place. Points decrease by one for each subsequent position until the 64th place. From the 65th position onwards, no bonus is awarded. In case of a tie in the number of votes, players will share the position and the associated bonuses.
At the end of the calendar year, the title of LPL Champion of the Year title is awarded to the top-ranked player.

If, after applying the three criteria, two or more players occupy the same position or possess the same amount of points, the following criteria are considered in order: Most tournament wins, Best placement in the POP (Player of Players) ranking, Most MVP (Most Valuable Player) awards, Highest number of accumulated participations
In addition to this annual ranking, there exists an “all-time” historical ranking that never resets, running parallel to the official ranking. This allows players to accumulate votes indefinitely.
